Dr Christos Ntanos
Information: Dr Christos Ntanos, MES-CoBraD's Project Coordinator, is a Research Director and holds a Bachelor in Electronic and Computer Engineering, a Master in Electronic and Computer Engineering obtained at the University of Birmingham, UK, and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a PhD from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Dr Ntanos is experienced in managing ICT and cross-cutting research and implementation projects, including the coordination of ones under the Horizon 2020 programme. In this capacity, he is coordinating ChildRescue, a Horizon 2020 project, which involves NGOs from Greece and Belgium aiming to enhance the processes of locating and tracking missing children and children in migration. He has significant expertise in the design of ICT solutions and development, management, analogous and parametric estimating of IT and database systems, context awareness, risk management, Decision Support Systems, Business Process Reengineering, Knowledge Representation, eGovernment and eParticipation. He is fluent in various programming languages, including VB.NET, server-side JavaScript, C++, C#, HTML, t-SQL, php, R, constantly enriching his skills with state-of-the-art development tools and practices. He has an eleven-year experience contributing in various research and implementation projects from the managerial, as well as the design and implementation perspectives.
Prof. Dimitris Askounis
Information: Prof. Dimitris Askounis is a Professor in Management Information & Decision Support Systems in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA. Dr. Askounis has been involved in numerous IT research projects funded by the EU since 1988 (FP5, FP6, FP7, HORIZON2020) in the thematic areas of software development (CloudTeams, Webinos, Plugin), eGovernance (CROSSROAD, COCKPIT, LEX-IS, FEED), eBusiness interoperability (FITMAN, IMAGINE, GIC, GENESIS), Big Data management / analytics / visualization (Linda, BigDataOcean), decision support, business process modelling frameworks and standards, knowledge management, quality management, etc. Dr. Askounis has published over 100 papers in scientific journals and international conference proceedings.

Information: The Neurological Institute of Athens (NIA) was established in 2013 with the mission to serve through its Specialty Centers towards improving brain health in Greece and worldwide by achieving clinical, research, education and policy-development goals. The NIA is the first Neurological institute of its kind in Greece, staffed by specialized physician-scientists who dedicate their time in combining clinical experience and practice with research and educational endeavors. It is comprised of individual multidisciplinary Centers, where physicians, psychologists, scientists, social workers, and clinical-research coordinators collaborate to achieve the NIA goals. In addition to clinical care, each center pursues translational and clinical trial research activities in tandem to subspecialty fellowship training and public education activities.

Information: Clalit health services (CHS) is the largest health service organisation in Israel and runs over a thousand primary care clinicians as well as has its own network of 14 hospitals in Israel, all of them university affiliated. The CHS is the legal representative of international research and development activities performed in its owned hospitals. Rabin Medical Center (RMC) is the largest hospital owned and run by CHS (hence CHS-RMC), the fourth largest medical facility in Israel, and is affiliated with Israel’s largest academic institution Tel Aviv University (TAU). The CHS-RMC Neurology department is a multidisciplinary clinical unit that operates within the hospital and delivers all neurology inpatient and outpatient services: large inpatient neurology ward, consults to all other inpatient units, inpatient epilepsy monitoring, emergency neurology service, invasive neuroradiology, neurovascular intensive case, headache clinic, neuroimmunology clinic, neuro-oncology clinic, movement disorders clinic, deep brain stimulation clinic, adult epilepsy clinic, cognitive neurology clinic, peripheral nerve disease clinic and clinical neurophysiology service. Neurologists also take part in multidisciplinary expert collaborations in complicated case management, epilepsy surgery, brain tumor boards, hospital risk management strategy planning and more. The department is closely affiliated with two on-campus translational neuroscience research laboratories purposed for discovery of molecular mechanisms underlying epileptogenesis and targeted treatments for neurodegenerative disease. Lastly the department conducts a wide array of educational and training activities: medical and nursing students and residency training, weekly rounds and journal clubs, conferences and more.
